Gerlino Extra Virgin Olive Oil Oil is produced in Montebenichi,a particular hill in the Valdambra area between Siena and Arezzo, an area famous throughout Tuscany for the quality of the oil produced and offered on the market.

As a matter of fact, thanks to its 511 meters of altitude, Montebenichi enjoys a privileged position in theTuscan countryside; the changing landscapes of the seasons offer an enchanting spectacle that depicts the Valdambra, the Crete Senesi up to Monte Amiata, almost at hand in the days of clear skies.

But Montebenichi is not only a place of particular beauty, but it is also the source of an incredible variety of cultivars that make the oil produced there of remarkable quality.

It is from this context that comes the Gerlino Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Surrounded by more than 30 native olive genotypes of the Valdambra, the Gerlino’s lands offer incredible biodiversity in olive oil production in order to produce a quality oil of particular lightness on the palate. Frantoio, Moraiolo, Leccino and Pendolino, together with the typical breeds of the Valdambra, contribute to creating this extraordinary oil generated one step away from the famous "Olivone", a unique millenary plant.

As proof of the quality and the particular structure of the Montebenichi soils and crops, recent efforts have been made in the territory of the Municipality of Bucine by CNR-Ibe technicians who, thanks to a research project, are studying, analysing and enhancing local biodiversity in order to make this product even more valuable.
